After an era of super fruity Savvy’s, we find ourselves trying to express the more reserved side of this varietal and showcase the balance between savoury and ripe fruit. Our 2020 Sauvignon Blanc is all about animated aromatics and acidity. Taught acid gives structure to the vibrant stone and tropical fruit. On the nose the wine has a distinctive aromatic, but savoury character with soft herbs and delicate fruit. The palate is complex – driven by a nervous tension that is offset by a plentiful amount of bright crunchy fruit.

SILVER MEDAL – The Perth Royal Wine Show, September 2020A rosé that stands out from the crowd of pink plonk – made from a base of free run Shiraz and Viognier juice. This base provides the backbone of the wine and delivers the fruit sweetness, vibrancy, and structure. The depth and texture comes from a blend of barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc pressings and barrel fermented Chenin Blanc. It is this addition that truly adds a layer of complexity and tightens the wine with a distinctive savoury element, heightened aromatics, and that little bit of mouthfeel that can sometimes be missed with rosé.
On the nose there is a very pretty floral character coupled with ripe stone fruits and hints of spice. The palette maintains a more savoury, structure driven appearance with bright crunchy acidity that is softened by the lushness of the fruit. The intricacies of multiple varieties come together to create a summer drink that is as complex as it is delicious. We believe the 2020 Margaret River Rosé captures that uniquely summer feeling of being free and having fun.

2020 Chardonnay, Margaret River $40.00
Current ReleaseThe inspiration for this wine is easy. Chardonnay loves Margaret River, and Margaret River loves Chardonnay. Our love for local Chardonnay is unconditional, and with love comes great respect. Respect for Margaret River as one of the best locations to grow Chardonnay in Australia. Respect for the individual traits of the differing Chardonnay clones grown in the region, and the subtle variance of terroir. Respect for the critical role of winemaking in shaping great fruit into brilliant Chardonnay.
Our previous Chardonnays have often been a blend of vineyards, clones and even different sub regions of Margaret River. This vintage, we chose to produce our first single vineyard Chardonnay to specifically showcase the subregion of Yallingup, and the Gingin clone.
The 2020 Chardonnay is a contemporary Margaret River Chardonnay with a classical edge.

2020 “Arancia”, Margaret River $35.00
Current ReleaseEvery vintage we make an ‘orange wine’. The Arancia is a skin contact white wine. Basically, it is a white wine made in the style of red wine. The name ‘Arancia’ (translating to orange in Italian) stems directly from the distinct orange tinged colour achieved from extended skin contact, and also pays homage to the stylistic approach of ‘Ramato’ wines, something we are seeking to achieve with this wine. We choose to make a skin contact white wine each vintage to continue our focus on producing food paired wines and wines which highlight phenolics in a clean style. This style of winemaking can result in fantastic food wines, and highlights qualities of the grapes, terroir and winemaking that non-skin contact white wines sometimes struggle to achieve.
Each vintage the grape varietals used in our Arancia changes, with this year being Chenin Blanc (2018 was Chardonnay / Viognier and 2019 was Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc). The 2020 Arancia was cooled on skins for 12 hours prior to being pressed, with the juice then added to barrels, which had been half filled with whole berries. This was then left to ferment and mature with the whole berries for 9 months before being pressed again and bottled. The Arancia is un-fined, un-filtered and bottled with some harmless lees in bottle, which provides some real texture!

2020 Chenin Blanc, Margaret River $35.00
Current ReleaseTreeton single vineyard Chenin Blanc with 12 hours of skin contact prior to pressing to a mix of tanks and barrels for ferment and maturation for 6 months with regular lees stirring and some malo. Lean, minerally style with layers of structure. The palate presents as a flinty, minerally style with some gentle textural charm and a crunchy acidity on the finish.

2020 “Fieldie”, Margaret River $30.00
Current ReleaseThe ‘Fieldie’ is a skin contact Semillon Sauvignon Blanc field blend (sourced from our organically grown Wallcliffe Vineyard), with a few other friends including Chenin Blanc, Riesling and Arneis. 50% of the fruit went to oak barrels and 50% to tank, where it was matured for 7 months.
This is a perfumed and aromatically focussed wine with a gentle hint of natural reductive tones. In short…. aromatic, vibrant and structured.

2020 Sangiovese, Margaret River $35.00
Current ReleaseAs with our previous vintage, the challenge to test the norm for expected varietals grown within the Margaret River region inspired us to make the 2020 Sangiovese – that combined of course with our love for Italian varietals and wine and our time spent amongst the vines in Tuscany, Italy. With the 2020 Sangiovese we wanted to continue to showcase a fruit forward wine with natural acidity and food focus but add a little more structure to it and extract a little more tannin focus.
Our 2020 Sangiovese is a superb fruit-driven mouth-feel wine, balanced by beautiful tannins you would expect from the Italian varietal and tangy acid. A hint of clove, cherry and spicy plum reaches the mid palate and finishes with a comfortable amount of tannin grip. This is a rare expression of Margaret River fruit, resulting in a juicy, playful and structured wine.

Miscela (Tempranillo Cab Sauv), Western Australia $30.00
Current ReleaseA magical blend (‘miscela’ in Italian) of vintages, regions and varietals. This is our take on a red blend, and made up of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. This multi varietal, multi regional, and multi vintage wine is a combination of warmer climate Geographe & Margaret River fruit, and spans 2018, 2019 & 2020 vintages. We wanted to present a food focused, savoury wine with some moreish dusty tannins.
The opportunity and freedom to be able to play with a blend of varietals over three different vintages and two different regions created so many options and possibilities. The ability to present a fresh new vintage varietal with an aged varietal presented us with flavours and structure we haven’t been able to achieve in the past.
Savoury. Earthy. Balanced

2020 Pinot Noir, Southern Forests $45.00
Current Release2020 marks our third vintage of making Pinot Noir. After making a wine sourced from Margaret River fruit in 2019, we have once again returned to the cooler climate Southern Forests region for the 2020 vintage (the same Manjimup vineyard and grower as our 2018 vintage) and embarked on producing a delicate and joyful expression of Pinot Noir in a light, bright, savoury style.

2019 Super Margs, Margaret River $45.00
Current ReleaseOur 2019 ‘Super Margs’ draws influence from the highly sought after and respected Super Tuscan wines of Italy, which are made from non-indigenous varieties. After patiently waiting vintage after vintage for Sangiovese fruit, and having finally come into some this vintage, we decided to make a diversion from the regionally popular Cabernet Merlot blend and instead create a French Italian influenced, modern style wine – Sangiovese Cabernet.
The ripe fruit of the Cabernet Sauvignon provides richness and flavour, while the Sangiovese provides youthfulness, aromatics and overall acid to the blend. This wine is a little heavier than a medium bodied wine and shows off some great fruit and well-integrated tannins.
